Dropping your sunglasses can be a real downer on an otherwise epic day out on the water, that's why all Gill sunglasses float when they hit the water, so you've not lost your favourite specs when things get choppy.
All gill sunglasses also feature 100% glare free polarised lenses with 100% UV 400 protection, to fully protect your eyes when you're out. As well as this they provide maximum visibility with a hydrophobic outer layer to prevent salt build up and mist as well as as oleophobic lenses to remove the issue of sun lotion, skin oils and fingerprints.
The main element of the sandwich lens construction is the polarizing light filter in the centre. Laminated to both sides of the filter are UV light absorbers, which block 100% of harmful UVA, UVB, and UVC radiation. Optically corrected, shatter-resistant cushion elements are laminated to both sides of the UV absorbers, followed by a unique scratch proof coating applied to the outer surfaces. All Gill Sailing Sunglasses are engineered to float.
